Upright Bicycle
Earlier the recumbent bicycles were advantageous due to its comfort and speed but now there is definetly an argument to be made for the upright bicycle. But it also depends on the riders to choose what kind of bikes or exercise equipments is right for them. An upright exercise bike is more like a traditional road bike in regards to both its design and function A bicycle on which the rider sits astride and stands on the pedals is known as an upright bicycle. This type of bicycle is most commonly used and the most popular form of an upright bicycles is the diamond frame consisting of two triangles. Step-through frame and mixte frame are the other two types of frames used in upright bicycles. The recumbent bicycle is an alternative to the upright bicycle on which the rider reclines on a seat or lies supine. Typically, a spinning program will last from a half hour to forty minutes. Another reason that spinning classes are so great and so popular is because they can be done by generally anyone; people of varying ages and fitness levels can participate. Upright bicycles are advantageous over recumbent bicycles as they are easier to pedal uphill because they are usually lighter , the rider can stand up on the pedals. The wheelbase of upright bicycles are shorter and therefore have beter maneuveribility. They are also cheaper compared to any other bikes in quality and comaparable components. The options are endless with the upright exercise bikes, and this is one of the main reasons as to their popularity. The recumbent bicycle rider sits in a reclining position, almost parallel with the pedals across the plane of the bike frame wheras in an upright bicycle the riders sit directly above the pedals. An upright bicycle is less mobile and stable than a recumbent bicycle. The recumbent bicycles are off-standard compared to an upright bicycle which makes it more expensive to buy a recumbent bike and also it is harder to find a place to store a recumbent bike.
