Fashion TrendsFashion trends come and go. Fashion trends are vital to the survival of the fashion industry. If we didn't have fashion trends, our wardrobes would never go out of style. If we didn't have fashion trends, our homes would rarely need redecorating. And if we didn't have fashion trends, everyone would wear their hair the same way their entire lives. Fashion trends often change and return in cycles. Fashion trends are guided by the climate in both society and the geographic area, because a lot of fashion trends have to fit with the weather and Fashion trends reflect the social mood of people. Of course, many fashion trends are more about clothing styles that can be worn anywhere in the world under certain circumstances. Fashion trends in formal wear, for instance, is not effected by anything much, but the clothing and accessories designers. Once year, fashion trends for women's formal wear might call for sleek black and white. The next year, flowing floral printed dresses could be the rage and the next year, women could be dressing in faux men's tuxedos. So if you want to keep up with fashion trends in your formal attire, you have to shop for a new dress up outfit every year... Fashion trends are sometimes almost universal and sometimes take off in a very limited segment of society. Or a fashion trend might start out as almost universally accepted and then fizzle down to remain popular with a tiny group of hangers on. And some fashion trends can briefly effect a well adopted fashion basic, change it slightly and then go back to the original as though the trend never happened. Take cowboy boots, for instance. For a certain group, cowboy boots are standard footwear and a person may have several pairs, their work cowboy boots, their dress up cowboy boots and a crazy pair of cowboy boots that they purchased just because a new fashion trend in cowboy boots emerged and they had to have a pair. Let's say metallic colored or leopard skin, for examples. Fashion trends are not just for adults. Fashion trends are big business in the world of teens too. With the enormous peer pressure around how a teen looks and dresses, not following a new fashion trend can be deadly in terms of your social standing at school. Some fashion trends in high school may be as simple as a certain designer style of blue jeans being "in" and you wouldn't be caught dead with a wanna be name brand. It is very important for most teens to fit in and following the fashion trends is a big way of accomplishing that.
